Supported Independent Living (SIL) is help with and/or supervision of daily tasks to develop the skills of an individual to live as independently as possible while building their skills. Supported Independent Living provides funding to supervise your daily life tasks while in a shared living environment. The aim of SIL is to help you develop and build your individual skills and empower you. These are the supports provided to a participant in their home and can also be in a shared or individual arrangement. It is most commonly used in shared living arrangements and is the paid personal support. Assistance provided to a participant will be included as part of their plan depending on the level of support they require to live independently in the housing option of their choice.
